The theme of World Veterinary Day 2021, which falls on April 24, is “Veterinarian response to the COVID-19 crisis”. The COVID-19 pandemic impacts people’s livelihoods, economic education, professional activities, as well as animal production system. During this challenging time, the veterinarians were able to meet new challenges, adapt to the new realities, and continue their work on animal health and welfare, as well as public health. The veterinary profession has shown its commitment to support the work of human health authorities. The COVID-19 pandemic has provided new evidence that a longstanding and sustainable “One Health” collaboration is needed.
