The OIE Performance of Veterinary Services (PVS) pathway is a cyclical process through which the OIE supports Member Countries to understand and tailor their engagement based on their own governance and technical priorities. It evaluates, plans and provides estimated costs for improving national Veterinary Services through a series of proven tools and methods (PVS Tool 2019), for evaluation and planning and for targeted support.
Orientation, evaluation, planning and targeted support tools are available for the Member Countries.
Completed and on-going PVS related activities in specific countries in Europe are listed here.
PVS Training and Sub-Regional planning workshops enhance ownership and engagement of the countries (including via PVS Self-Evaluation). It flows into better preparation and conduct of missions, better quality reports, and most significantly, effective use of the reports to source funding and drive change to strengthen Veterinary Services.
A PVS pathway orientation training workshop has been organised in Nur Sultan (Kazakhstan) in October 2019.
